WHAT IS A WARRANTY CERTIFICATE?

It is a certificate, issued by a manufacturer/producer or importer for the goods they sell, produce and/or import, which untertakes to replace/repair the goods or return or reduce its price in case of any failure within at least two years or within a measurement unit as determined due to its property, free of charge and which states the obligations of the seller and consumer.

WHO ARE OBLIGATED TO RECEIVE A WARRANTY CERTIFICATE?
The companies which produce or import the goods listed in the annex to the Consumers Protection Code 4077, must apply to the Ministry with a list of goods they produce or import to have warranty certificates approved and they must deliver them to the consumers.

The seller, dealer agency or representative is responsible for ensuring that the warranty certificates prepared under this Regulation are certified and delivered.

OBLIGATION TO ISSUE WARRANTY CERTIFICATES
The manufacturer/producer or importer is obligated to issue Ministry – approved warranty certificates for the industrial goods they produce or import. The seller, dealer or agency is responsible for perfecting such warranty certificates including the number and date of the relevant invoice and deliver them to the consumers.

WHAT IS THE TERM FOR WARRANTY CERTIFICATES?
Warranty term starts on the date of delivery of the goods to the customer and is equal to the value determined with the measurement unit in the attached list.

MANUFACTURER/PRODUCER
It means those which produce the goods offered to the customer, found in the relavant Regulations, including public legal persons and those which put their distinctive marks, trademarks or titles on goods and which offer them to sales.

IMPORTER
It means those which import any goods found in the relavant Regulations from foreign countries and which offer them to sales, including public legal persons.

SELLER
It means real or legal persons which offer goods to the consumer, including public real persons, with the scope of their commercial or professional activities.

SERVICE STATION
It means the facilities established by manufacturers/producers and/or importers or by real or legal persons authorized for this purpose under a contract between them, for the goods they produce or import, in order to conduct aftersales installation, maintenance and repair services during the service life of the goods.  

INTRODUCTION AND USE GUIDES
The industrial goods produced domestically or imported must be sold with a Turkish guide on introduction, use, maintenance and simple repairs and with a label showing international symbols and marks when required.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR APPLICATION TO WARRANTY CERTIFICATE

1. A notarized copy of the original company signature warrant,
2. Turkish introduction and use quide on maintenance, repair and use of the goods,
3. For land motor vehicles, agriculture and forest tractors and motorcycles to be manufactured, a national type approval certificate (obtained from the General Directorate of Industry); for land motor vehicles, agriculture and forest tractors and motorcycles to be imported, a certificate showing the origin of the goods (a certificate of origin, type approval certificate, etc).
